Are you struggling…

With the challenges of motherhood, postpartum depression, or postpartum anxiety?

To identify or express your emotions in a way that strengthens your relationships?

In connecting with others but instead feel disconnected and lonely?

Knowing your values, your strengths, your self-confidence?

Are you a new or expectant mom with feelings of anxiety or depression? Are you experiencing deep grief due to death, divorce, or significant loss and can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel? Do you feel alone in the world or in your struggles? I know what you are going through and together we can increase your feelings of hope in the future.

I believe self-discovery and healing occur in an environment of compassion where your experience of acceptance from me helps you learn to provide compassion and acceptance for yourself. I will help you uncover your true needs and desires, allowing you to clearly define any problem and develop the most effective solution.

MY BACKGROUND AND APPROACH

I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Oklahoma. I will collaborate with you to strengthen your identity and values mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically, and spiritually. I will bring you to the “here and now” utilizing mindfulness and focusing on, and at times gently challenging, your present thoughts and feelings. I will teach you grounding techniques to help you to tolerate the discomfort that comes with sitting in the “yuck” of your present circumstances.

After therapy with me, my clients feel seen, heard, and valued. My clients report how I gave them a compassionate space, supported their exploration, and gave them effective tools to help them succeed.

Therapy with me is

  • Collaborative

You and I will work together to make decisions about how best to proceed with treatment founded on principles of accountability, integrity, and respect.

  • Client Centered

I am less directive, grounded in the idea that you are inherently motivated toward achieving positive functioning in your life

  • Compassionate

I emphasize the importance of compassion and self-compassion in interactions with the world and the self.

We all want to feel safe and supported in therapy and we also want to see change. I am experienced in working with clients to see the change they desire in their lives on a variety of issues. I focus my practice on working with children, teens, and adults, individually or in a family.

FAQs

  • As a graduate intern, I am currently in the final stages of my education. I am in a Master’s program and one of the requirements to graduate is to gain 600-700 hours of clinical experience under the supervision of an experienced Licensed Clinician. I meet weekly with both my University and On-Site Supervisors so it’s like you get a treatment team of clinicians reviewing the work we do together to make sure I am giving you the best quality care.

There are benefits of working with a graduate intern clinician that many do not consider. Graduate interns carry smaller caseloads and are energetic and excited as they are learning the most up-to-date training on evidence-based interventions. Graduate Interns are willing to ask questions for help and consultation, which is best practice but rare for even the most experienced clinician. Research shows that the bonds formed, and emotions experienced, along with insight and work done in session, leave many clients reporting a more positive experience with their graduate intern than with their previous experiences with more seasoned therapists.

  • As a graduate intern, I do not file with insurance. My cash pay rate is $45 per session. I have some reserved spots for sliding scale fees for clients who may need it due to financial hardship.

  • A session with me starts by providing a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where the client feels safe to express themselves openly. We’ll explore whatever challenges you are facing, focusing on your unique values as we collaborate toward achieving your goals. My role is to support you in self-exploration as you find your own answers and understanding of yourself.

  • Becoming a therapist was a decision made after experiencing several challenging times in my life. From losing my mom at a young age to experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, I truly know what it’s like to feel alone, helpless, and afraid of the future. It was through my own self-exploration and healing relationships with others that I realized my passion for walking with others in their pain. We all experience challenges in life, and I desire to help others feel less alone.

Let me be the support you need.
