WOMEN’S THERAPY
Providing support and empowerment for women as they invest in their own healing.
Juggling work, navigating both romantic and family relationships, and finding your own identity, can be a constant struggle in today’s society.
Are your attempts to successfully manage all of life’s moving parts simultaneously, creating pressure that can be both overwhelming and stressful? In some cases, minor stressors start to add up over time. Sometimes we have more significant events happen in our lives, like changes in our jobs or our relationships, unplanned pregnancies, or struggles to become pregnant. All of these things can lead to feelings of sadness or disappointment, anxiety, frustration, or even shame. Even when we know that life still has the potential to be better tomorrow, we may still not know how to make that happen.
The therapists at Cairn Wellness Center want to support you in creating that life that you desire. Whether that’s through establishing positive habits to replace negative ones, understanding and working through new or difficult feelings or simply navigating changes you’re experiencing in your life.
We can help with:
Break destructive patterns of negative self-talk and self-doubt
Process emotions associated with anxiety, depression, or trauma
Improved communication and intimacy in relationships
Adjusting to life transitions including parenting, grief, and loss
Setting healthy boundaries without guilt
Cairn Wellness Center designs therapy for women so that it addresses how you experience and process change in your own unique ways. With help from a CWC therapist, you can start to examine areas that are contributing to the stress and challenges you’re facing and determine effective strategies to overcome them. You’ll explore ways to communicate more effectively within your relationships, both personal and professional, and reestablish your self-confidence and direction. At CWC, we strive to create a space where you can learn who you are, where you can feel safe to open up and explore what your needs are, and have someone there to support you along the way.
how WE can help
Taking some of the load off your shoulders.
No one knows your needs better than you. Your therapist will be there to help support and guide you as you learn what you need. Together, we will work to determine what your goals are with therapy, and this will lay the foundation for how we work together. Using this as a template, we will visit it often together, to make sure we stay in line with and are working toward the changes you want to see most.
We will be there every step as you work through life’s most important decisions, as you build healthier relationships, and even reincorporate your own strength and determination into all aspects of your life. Working together, we will identify your personal goals, and what you need and want for your life. Once you learn the amazing value you offer, we’ll assist you in making the changes you need so you can live your most meaningful and joyful life.

Common questions about therapy for women
-
For therapy to be beneficial for you, there has to be a level of trust and safety between you and your therapist. While I work to understand the needs and preferences of each of my clients, the best way to determine if we are a good fit is to schedule a consultation, and let’s discuss your specific needs and my approach to see if it feels like a good fit. After the consultation, if you still aren’t sure, I would encourage you to schedule a session. Clients can usually tell in one or two sessions if they believe they have found the right therapist for them.
At Cairn Wellness Center, we encourage clients to be honest about their experience in therapy. If your therapist has said or done something hurtful or upsetting, we ask you to please bring it up in session so you can process the experience with the hopes of repair.
If it turns out one of our therapists is not the best therapist for you, we are happy to help you find another therapist from a list of referral sources who may be a better fit for you.

Each individual case and situation is unique so it is impossible to give an exact number. However, it is recommended to have a minimum of 10-12 sessions to see real progress. Your therapist will check in with you regularly to see how you feel about your progress and treatment with a willingness to collaborate about when you would like to end treatment.
