Have you ever asked yourself…

Am I the only one struggling with this?

Why can’t I let go of the pain from my past?

What will it take to improve my relationships?

Why does it feel like I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop?

Are you experiencing issues in your relationship that are limiting your connection and confidence? Do you need help repairing relationships whether in your family or your romantic relationship? Are you experiencing ongoing symptoms of trauma that you feel stuck to move past? You don’t have to go through this alone. Let me help you examine the patterns in your relationships, your view of yourself, or your habits that may impact you feeling stuck so that you can experience the freedom you desire.

I work with you to increase personal insight and motivation to change those things that are harming you, whether it be in negative relationships, feelings of hopelessness, or addictive behaviors. For me, looking into your family history isn’t about blaming the family system you grew up in. Instead, it is about identifying the root and the environment that it developed so we can address the problem and achieve long-term change.

MY BACKGROUND AND APPROACH

I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Oklahoma. While I am integrative to meet your specific goals, I am experienced in utilizing modalities of Internal Family Systems, Restoration Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT, Attachment, Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, and Solution-Focused therapy. I am also trained in “Making Sense of Your Worth” in both individual and group formats. I integrate Christian faith into my practice to whatever extent you are comfortable with. I respect and honor the beliefs of each person I counsel, offering to weave faith into your therapeutic journey as much or as little as you wish. This personalized approach ensures that your values and beliefs are part of the healing process.

After therapy with me, my clients are more confident in themselves and their ability to exist in their relationships. They tell me how they feel cared for, appreciated the growth they’ve made, and even enjoyed the time together building our therapeutic relationship that helped them ultimately meet their goals of change.

Therapy with me is

  • Safe

Aiming to create an environment where you feel secure, understood, and free to express yourself without fear of judgment or repercussion.

  • Challenging

Gently calling out inconsistencies or discrepancies in your thoughts or behaviors to encourage self-reflection and growth. I also suggest alternative perspectives to move the therapeutic process forward.

  • Collaborative

You and I will work together to make decisions about how to best proceed with treatment and founded on principles of accountability, integrity, and respect.

We all want to feel safe and supported in therapy and we also want to see change. I am experienced working with clients to see the change they desire in their lives in a variety of issues. My practice is focused primarily on working with teens, individual adults, families, and couples.

FAQs

  • LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. In addition to education addressing all areas of mental health, I have additional training in working with families and relationships. While I work often with individuals, I am also comfortable with both members of a couple or even a whole family in session.

  • I am currently in-network with BCBS, Healthchoice, Aetna, United, Healthcare Highways, and WebTPA. If you have other insurance, I would be considered out of network, meaning you would have to pay for the session directly. I am happy to electronically file the necessary paperwork with your insurance but they will send any portion they cover directly to you.

  • A session with me will feel comfortable and safe but also challenging at times. My approach is person-centered so I am meeting the client where they are at and meeting their needs accordingly. I will often ask thought-provoking questions to encourage further processing for you but I also utilize psychoeducation and teach the correlation of thoughts, feelings and behaviors, relational patterns, and coping skills.

  • I always knew that I wanted to be in the helping profession of some sort. As I went through my own therapy journey I recognized a passion was being built to be a voice of hope and to have an opportunity to make a difference in my community. Being able to guide others to emotional healing is a great honor that I do not take lightly.

It’s your turn to get the help you deserve.
