Are you faced with…
Big life changes?
Grief after the loss of a loved one?
Finding the best way to support your child?
Emotions getting in the way of you having the joy in life you want?
I am so proud of you for taking the brave step to reach out for help. We can all use the support of a therapist at different times. Are you feeling defeated? Do you want to make sense of “Why is this happening to me” or “Why do I feel so alone?” Do you need support and guidance as you find your voice and learn how to advocate for yourself? I can create a safe space for you to explore this together and learn to look at each experience from all sides and perspectives.
Together, you and I will determine a customized plan of treatment that meets your needs and helps you achieve your goals. I really do “get it” and want to help you, listen to understand you and apply my training and experience to support you during whatever challenges you are facing. I typically see clients once a week at first to get our work together in a stable place, and then we can discuss a plan that works best for you and prioritizes your needs.
MY BACKGROUND AND APPROACH
I completed my Master of Education degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. I have worked in education for the past 8 years with the last 4 years as a high school counselor, giving me a lot of experience working with adolescents and their families. I utilize CBT and Person-Centered therapy to build rapport with clients and tailor treatment to meet each client’s needs.
After therapy with me, my clients describe feeling hope for the future as they have gained deeper insights into themselves and gained effective coping skills. They feel understood by me and empowered to move forward in the life they always hoped for. I love it when clients tell me they feel peace after session and when they have one of those “ah-ha” moments that has a big impact.

In Oklahoma, Candidate for Licensure means that I have completed all my education and have passed all the testing required by the Board of Behavioral Health. I describe this similar to a resident in the medical field. All licensed professional therapists in the state of Oklahoma are required to gain 3000 hours of supervised experience before they are able to be considered licensed. I currently meet weekly with a licensed and Board approved supervisor to review my caseload.

As a candidate for licensure I do not file with insurance. My cash pay rate is $125 per session. I have some reserved spots for sliding scale fees for clients who may need it due to financial hardship.

I strive to create a safe space and build trust and rapport with you so you feel comfortable and able to talk about the issues that are bothering you. I want to help you speak openly and advocate for your needs. This means that a therapy session for me does not consist of giving advice or telling you what to do. You won't be judged, criticized, or interrupted as you speak. Some sessions can bring laughter, some bring tears, and some are simple processing and problem solving. I create a flexible space in which we can work on goals and objectives but also can pivot to talk about something that is bothering you or more important. I aim to have you guide our sessions to your needs and validate that you are seen and heard.

As a kid, I knew I always wanted to have a job helping people. I have always felt a pull in serving others and it wasn't until my second semester of grad school that I felt I had found my purpose. I was in group therapy class, discussing the different theorists and theories, and was super nervous about what to expect. The class ended up being one of my favorites and reason to pursue counseling as a career. It was fascinating seeing the different modalities of therapy and how different people respond to others. It was eye-opening for me in that I truly care for others and want to see them succeed and thrive in life. I love being around people who are growing and changing constantly while also participating in a culture of like-minded professionals who value growth and well-being.
