What is a Cairn?
A cairn is a stack of rocks. One common purpose of a cairn is to guide hikers by marking the trail or a turn in the trail or a mountain top. Inuit and Yupik natives in northern regions used rock piles in a similar way; to communicate that the hiker is on the right path or to show that someone had been there.
Rock stacking has carried spiritual meaning across cultures for centuries. The act of balancing stones carries with it a practice of patience and a physical effort to create balance. Each rock can signify an intention of grace for thankfulness or offered up for another in need. In the Old Testament, a cairn was used to represent a sign of God’s faithfulness and to mark the path home.
Each rock in our logo has an intentional meaning. As we value holistic therapy, the logo shows how we aim to balance the emotional, spiritual, relational, and physical aspects of our client’s lives as we work with them in the therapeutic setting.
